Spartans Finish Pre Season Tour of Ottawa

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team enjoyed a pre season visit to Ottawa, Canada in August.  The team competed against Carleton University, Ottawa University and Kingston University while they were there.

The eight day tour was great preparation as the team prepares for another fascinating tussle in the East Coast Conference, one off the toughest conferences in the Country.  "It has been a great tour, the facilities and games were all fantastic, we want to thank Craig Stead for all his help in organizing the whole event," commented head coach Graham Brown.
During the tour the team visited many Canadian historical places including the Parliament buildings. Team Captain, Denis Lazo -Cruz remarked, "I feel the tour has helped us to become a team, everyone is on the same page, all fighting for each other.  The trip gave us the opportunity to work hard, grow as a team while enjoying the sights and have some fun as well". Seeing other Colleges in Canada was also very interesting, the team stayed in Alqonquin College for the entire stay.  It was a great facilty and a place that we would enjoy going back to.
"This was an experience that I enjoyed very much," said freshmen Felix Morgalla.  Morgalla is an international student-athlete that came to St. Thomas Aquinas from Germany.  "I have already been in two new countries as well as three different states.  this is a remarkable experience and i am grateful for the college to provide me with this opportunity.
Then team will head to Bloomsburg, PA to open their non-conference play on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
