Defensive Struggle Ends in Men's Soccer's 2-0 Loss to Bridgeport

The St. Thomas Aquinas College men's soccer team fell to a 2-0 setback against the University of Bridgeport in an East Coast Conference battle at Spartan Field. STAC is now 3-10-1, 1-6-1, with Bridgeport standing at 8-5, 4-3.

Defense was the name of the game from the outset, with neither team able to sustain an offensive challenge. The Purple Knights hit the net first, openeing the scoring midway through the first half at the 22:15 mark, and that goal would hold through the rest of the half.

That pace continued through the second half when, with the Spartans pressing in search of the equalizer, Bridgeport tallied a second goal with just 5:20 to play, accounting for the final score. Jack Nicholson took the tough loss while making three saves in the STAC net, while the Spartans held a narrow edge of just 11-10 in shots.
