Spartans Make Preseason Visit To Hasbro Children's Hospital

On Friday, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Soccer Team took time from their preseason training camp trip in Rhode Island to visit Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence.

Members of the 2016 squad spent time with some of the children in the hospital's game rooms, while also conversing with hospital staff and the parents of some of these little patients. The interaction between players and the children brought a sense of togetherness and camaraderie, as both groups had great fun trying to beat each other at various games and activities.

"We live in a world where it is far too easy to take things for granted, so it was nice to watch my players not only give back to the community, but also to watch them realize that they are extremely lucky to have their health and the opportunity to play the sport that they love, at such a high level" remarked Head Coach Graham Brown.

The amazing team at Hasbro Children's Hospital did a great job in educating the Spartan Soccer Athletes as to what life is really like as a member of the hospital staff and what the patients and their families go through upon arriving at the facility.

The visit was an eye opening experience, that won't soon be forgotten by anyone who was fortunate enough to take part.
