Kevon Evans and Calle Gunnarsson Earn ECC Men's Soccer Weekly Awards

St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Soccer players Kevon Evans and Calle Olle Petter Gunnarsson have earned East Coast Conference Men's Soccer weekly awards on Monday, with Evans being named Offensive Player of the Week and Gunnarrson selected as the Defensive Player of the Week, following the Spartans sweep of conference road matches at Queens College and Daemen University.

Kevon Evans (Jr.|Forward|Ossining, N.Y.) tallied his team-leading 10th goal of the season against the Wildcats and added an assist (8th) against the Knights, as the Spartans went 2-0 on the week and clinched their second ECC Regular Season Championship in the last three seasons.

Calle Gunnarsson (Fr.|Goalkeeper|Stockholm, Sweden) recorded back-to-back clean sheets, stopping all 10 shots faced over two road matches at Queens and Daemen. Gunnarsson has now blanked his last three opponents, totaling 270 minutes of action, and has five shutouts on the season.

St. Thomas Aquinas (9-2-3, 6-0-1 ECC) visits East Stroudsburg University on Tuesday, October 24, with kickoff between the Spartans and Warriors set for 7:00 p.m. at Gregory-Douds Field at Eiler-Martin Stadium in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
