Goalkeeper Calle Olle Petter Gunnarsson of the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Soccer team has been named the East Coast Conference Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week, following the Spartans 2-0 week on the pitch.
Gunnarsson allowed just one goal and made nine total saves in two matches against St. Michael's and Molloy last week to lead still-undefeated St. Thomas Aquinas to a pair of victories. The Stockholm, Sweden native made five saves in a 3-1 win over the Purple Knights and four saves in a 4-0 win over the Lions in ECC play, as the Spartans remain a perfect 3-0-2 on the season.
STAC (3-0-2) returns to action on Saturday, September 23, in a non-conference road contest with Assumption University. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in Worcester, Massachusetts.
