Evans and Zuniga Take Home United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Honors

On Wednesday, St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Soccer players Kevon Evans and Alejandro Zuniga were each named as United Soccer Coaches All-East Region selections. Evans and Zuniga earned second team honors in a vote of the Coaches Association's All-Region Committee.

Evans (Jr.|F|Ossining, N.Y.) led his team in scoring with 12 goals (8 assists) and 32 points, while playing in 16 contests for the maroon and gold. Kevon was named the East Coast Conference's Offensive Player of the Year and both ECC All-Conference First Team and D2CCA All-Region First Team selections. He was also tabbed the ECC Offensive Player of the Week on both September 11 and October 23.

Zuniga (Fr.|M|Naples, Fla.) posted five goals and lead the team with nine assists for the Spartans in 16 games, while also racking up a team-leading 65 shots taken, with 30 of those going on goal. Alejandro was named both an ECC All-Conference First Team and a D2CCA All-Region Second Team selection. Additionally, he was selected as the ECC Rookie of the Week on October 30.

St. Thomas Aquinas finished the 2023 campaign with a 10-2-5 overall record and a 7-0-1 ECC mark. The Spartans clinched their second ECC Regular Season Championship in the last three seasons and made it to the semifinal round of the conference tournament.
