Hernandez's Goal, Gunnarsson's Eight Saves Helps Spartans to 1-0 Road Victory Over Queens

Queens, N.Y. - Yahir Hernandez's first goal of the season, combined with Calle Olle Petter Gunnarsson's eight save shutout effort, kept the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Soccer team perfect in East Coast Conference action, as the maroon and gold held on for a 1-0 victory over Queens College at Varsity Field.

STAC improves to 8-2-3 overall and an unblemished 5-0-1 in ECC play, while Queens slips to 6-6-2 and 3-3-0.

Yahir Hernandez was the lone goal scorer in the match, depositing his first of the year to the back of the onion bag for the Spartans.

In goal, Calle Olle Petter Gunnarsson (W, 8-0-3) made eight saves on the night to pick up his fourth clean sheet of the year. On the other end of the field, Austin Matthews (L, 0-1-0) stopped five of six shots faced.
