
Rutherford, N.J. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Soccer team suffered the first blemish on its 2024 season record, with a 2-1 road setback to Felician University, Saturday at Tryon Field in Bergen County.
STAC slips to 4-1-0 on the season, while Felician improves to 4-1-0.
Kevon Evans tallied the lone goal in the match for the Spartans, his team-leading eighth of the season. Manuel Otero and Hugo Rodriguez picked up the game-tying and game-winning goals respectively for the Golden Falcons.
Between the sticks, Felician's Emanuele Moretti (W, 4-1) stopped one of two shots faced to outduel STAC's Dalton Houser (L, 4-1), who turned away four of six shots.
How it Happened
18th Minute: The Spartans forced a Felician turnover, which allowed Francisco Degiorgi to slip a pass to a breaking Kevon Evans, who ripped a shot past a diving Emanuele Moretti to make it 1-0 for the visitors.
20th Minute: A free kick by Felician's Manuel Otero sailed through the air and bent just inside the left post, beating Dalton Houser to even the score at 1-1.
37th Minute: An offensive rush by the Golden Falcons allowed some crisp passing and a cross-field boot from Alex Ramos to the foot of Hugo Rodriguez, who blasted a shot to the left post, finding the back of the net to give the hosts a 2-1 advantage.
