Dante Muntane of the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Soccer team has been named both the East Coast Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week, following the Spartans 1-1-0 week with a 2-1 home setback against Franklin Pierce University in a non-conference tilt and a 7-0 road victory over D'Youville University to clinch a berth in the upcoming East Conference playoffs.
Muntane (Rosario, Argentina) recorded his fourth clean sheet of the season in Saturday's 7-0 victory over D'Youville to go 1-1 on the week. The freshman goalkeeper turned aside 11-of-13 shots fired his way in matches against the Saints and Ravens.
STAC (6-4-2, 5-1-0 ECC) hosts Mercy University on Wednesday, October 22 at Spartan Field. Kickoff between the Spartans and Mavericks is scheduled for noon in Sparkill.
