The East Coast Conference announced the 2017-2018 Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year, as well as the Scholar-Athletes of the Year for all of its sponsored sports at the ECC Awards Dinner on June 4th in Bridgeport, CT.

Andreu Ferragut-Lluch (Palma de Mallorca, Spain) of the St. Thomas Aquinas men's tennis team was named the Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Ferragut, a senior biology major with a 3.92 GPA, was named an ECC All-Conference First Team selection after compiling a record of 14-5 in singles and 12-6 in doubles during the 2017-2018 season.

Ferragut-Lluch became the first player in program history to eclipse the 100 career win plateau, is now the current leader in singles, doubles and combined wins, and holds the single-season record in singles (17), doubles (16) and combined (33) wins.

To go along with his First Team selection, Andreu wraps his Spartan Career with an All-Conference Second Team honor in 2015-2016, and career competition records of 109-48 (combined), 60-21 (singles), 49-27 (doubles) and a 29-13 (15-6 singles/14-7 doubles) mark within ECC play.
