St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis players Enej Hasicevic and Marcel Volz were recognized by the East Coast Conference with Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors respectively on Monday, after the Spartans went 2-0 on the week, with a pair of victories over Post and Kutztown Universities.
Hasicevic was 2-0 at fifth singles and second doubles on the week. In singles play, he topped Joe Alvord of Post (6-3. 0-6, 6-3) and Bobby Frankenfield of Kutztown (6-0, 6-0).
Volz was 2-0 at first singles and doubles (split between first and third) on the week. In singles play, he topped Jonathan Compres of Post (6-2, 6-1) and Nolan Perugini of Kutztown (7-6, 7-6).
The Spartans (12-5) are currently ranked 6th in the NCAA East Region, and return to action on Tuesday, April 23 as they travel to take on NE-10 opponent Stonehill College. First serve is set for 3:30 PM, rain or shine.
