St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis player Paul Voigt was recognized by the East Coast Conference with Player of the Week honors on Monday, after the Spartans 3-0 week on the court, in which they ran their ECC record to 4-1 and locked up the #2 seed in the upcoming ECC tournament.
Voigt was 3-0 at No. 3 singles, all coming in three sets. He topped Andres Hernandez of Le Moyne (3-6, 6-1, 6-3), Matthew Forrest of Roberts Wesleyan (4-6, 6-3, 6-4), and David Gonzalez of Daemen (3-6, 6-3, 6-3). Voigt also went 3-0 in No. 2 doubles to help the Spartans finish the week undefeated.
Next up for the 10-5 Spartans is a home match against regional foe Post University on Tuesday, April 16. First serve is set for 3:00 PM, weather permitting.
