
Orlando, Fla. - The red-hot St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis team continued its perfect campaign, shutting out Carthage College 7-0 on Wednesday morning, as the Spartans continue their Sunshine State Spring Break trip.
The Spartans claimed the doubles point, but started down 1-0 as Yanozie Amadike and Myles Krzewinski beat Odysseas Papaioannou and Ludovico Truffelli, 6-1. Don Vinz Lominoque and Tobias Fuerschuss evened things by shutting down Francisco Silveira and Cooper Ferruzzi, 6-2. The clincher came for STAC via Ondrej Sramek and Tony Khamassi, as they bested Marco Czosnyka and Daniel Jaworski, 6-3.
Don Vinz Lominoque was the first winner in #4 singles, claiming his match via shutout 6-2, 6-1. Tobias Fuerschuss next won at No. 1 singles by score of 7-5, 6-4 to give STAC the 3-0 advantage. The Spartans picked up a win at No. 2 singles, as Lennart Lehmann earned a 7-5, 6-1 victory to clinch the match. Ivan Laiz (3-6, 6-0, 6-4), Alberto Espinosa Navarro (6-3, 6-2) and Ondrej Sramek (7-5, 6-7 (4), 1-0 (8)) also earned wins for St. Thomas Aquinas.
Don Vinz Lominoque, Tobias Fuerschuss and Ondrej Sramek all went 2-0 on the day, winning both their doubles and singles matches.
