St. Thomas Aquinas' Seth Newman has been named the East Coast Conference Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans four-match Florida spring break road trip last week.
Newman (Cambridge, England) went 6-2 in his singles and doubles matches on the team's Sunshine State trip. The freshman recorded a 3-1 record in doubles matches (with teammate Henry Ronnberg) with wins in the No. 3 position against Bentley, Lubbock Christian, and Texas-Tyler. He also posted a 3-1 mark in singles action with triumphs against Bentley, Lewis, and Texas Tyler in both the No. 3 and 4 spots.
STAC (6-4, 1-0 ECC) visits Queens College on Monday, March 25. The Spartans and Knights will square off in ECC action at 1:00 p.m. inside of the QC Tennis Bubble in Flushing.
