Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis team battled familiar foes on Saturday afternoon, as the maroon and gold hosted Queens College in an East Coast Conference regular season matchup at the Riley Family Tennis Courts.
For the second time this year, the Knights would put together a rally in singles play to defeat the Spartans, this one by the score of 5-2, to sweep the season series two matches to none.
STAC falls to 7-6 overall and 1-2 in ECC play, while Queens improves to 6-5 and 3-1.
Queens began the match earning a victory at #3 doubles as Tim Andersson and Francisco Gonzalez defeated Seth Newman and Henry Ronnberg, 6-2. However, the Spartans would rally to tie doubles action with Don Vinz Lominoque and Nathan Yacar besting Omar El Shehawey and Lucas Foix Sotos, 6-4 at #2 slot. STAC would take the first team point via the #1 pair of Ondrej Sramek and Ludovico Truffelli and their 6-4 triumph over Roni Rikkonen and Cameron Henricy.
