West Chester, Pa. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis team continued its fall season, downing West Chester University of Pennsylvania 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon at the WCU Tennis Courts.
The Spartans claimed the doubles point via a sweep, as Tony Khamassi and Ludovico Truffelli blanked Sam Robertson and Devin McBride, 6-0, followed by Henry Ronnberg and Seth Newman besting Lucas Henke and Brady Burns, 6-0 and then Ondrej Sramek & Don Vinz Lominoque downing Felix Weber and Andrew Poprik, 6-2.
Seth Newman was the first winner in singles, claiming his match 6-0, 6-0. Ondrej Sramek next won at No. 1 singles by the score of 6-0, 6-1 to give STAC a commanding 3-0 advantage. Following a West Chester victory, the Spartans picked up a win at No. 3 singles, as Henry Ronnberg earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory to clinch the match. Ivan Laiz (6-0, 6-0) and Alberto Espinosa Navarro (6-3, 6-1) also earned wins for St. Thomas Aquinas.
Henry Ronnberg, Seth Newman and Ondrej Sramek all went 2-0 on the day, winning both their doubles and singles matches.
