
Newark, N.J. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis team was back on road on Wednesday evening for their second straight indoor, neutral site match; this one against Yeshiva University at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility on the campus of NJIT. After sweeping doubles play to gain their first point of the day, STAC then won five out of six singles bouts to cruise to a 6-1 win over the Maccabees.
STAC takes its fourth stright match and improves to 6-1 on the year, while Yeshiva slips to 0-3.
St. Thomas Aquinas began the afternoon by taking all three doubles matches, as Seth Newman & Miguel Angel Real Jimenez took a 6-0 victory over Jacob Pfeifer & Mark Adler at No. 3 to set the tone. Then the team of Henry Ronnberg & Kylan Feruglio would clinch the all important point for the maroon and gold with a 6-0 triumph over David Cattan & Jacob Feit at the No. 2 position. Don Vinz Lominoque & Nathan Yacar would keep the sweep intact with a 6-2 win against Matan Kamhi & Israel Bussu in the No. 1 spot.
Already up 1-0, the Spartans would settle the match with four straight victories, as No. 4 Ivan Laiz bested Israel Bussu 7-5, 6-4, No. 3 Nathan Yacar defeated David Cattan 6-3, 6-1, No. 2 Alberto Espinosa Navarro downed Jacob Pfiefer 6-2, 6-1 to earn the team win and No. 1 Nagamitsu Kuroda beat Matan Kamhi 6-3, 6-2. Then, the only Spartans setback came at the No. 6 spot where Yeshiva's Mark Adler was victorious over Miguel Angel Real Jimenez 6-4, 6-3. No. 5 Kylan Feruglio won his match with Jacob Feit 7-5, 6-4 to get the maroon and gold back to their winning ways.

"I am happy for Mitsu who picked up his second win at #1 singles this season. He is getting better by the day. It was also nice to see Ivan out there playing well. He was in complete command of his ground strokes. Nathan was impressive as well, claiming two nice wins. Kylan, our MIP for the match, looked great. He was hitting with power and serving big. He keeps developing and hopefully can continue along his path."
