Vieira, Feuchtgruber, Versteegen & La Jara Net ECC Men's Volleyball Weekly Honors

St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball players Gabriel Vieira, James Feuchtgruber, Kyran Versteegen and Joaquin La Jara were each selected for the East Coast Conference's weekly honors on Monday, following the Spartans 3-1 road victory over Roberts Wesleyan University last Saturday.

Vieira was tabbed as the ECC Player of the Week, while Feuchtgruber took home Defensive Player of the Week, Versteegen earned Rookie of the Week and Joaquin La Jara scored Setter of the Week.

Vieira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) recorded a .429 hitting percentage in the Spartans victory over Roberts Wesleyan. The St. Thomas Aquinas freshman totaled 21 kills, seven digs and three block assists.

Feuchtgruber (Niederbergkirchen, Germany) recorded a .500 hitting percentage in STAC's triumph over Roberts Wesleyan. The Spartans’ freshman middle blocker also had six digs and four block assists against the Redhawks.

Versteegen (Sittard, Netherlands) recorded a .229 hitting percentage in the maroon and gold's win over Roberts Wesleyan. The St. Thomas Aquinas freshman totaled 16 kills, two service aces, six digs, and two block assists.

La Jara (Lima, Peru) totaled 39 assists (9.75 assists per set), one kill, a service ace, seven digs, and a block assist in St. Thomas Aquinas' success over Roberts Wesleyan.

STAC (7-12, 3-1 ECC) hosts Dominican University in an ECC clash on Thursday, March 28. The Spartans and Chargers will lock horns beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Hennessy Center in Blauvelt, N.Y.
