Hillburn, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball team wrapped up its two-match weekend series with Roberts Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon by taking a 3-1 decision over the visiting Redhawks at the Joseph T. St. Lawrence Community Center (Torne Valley).
The victory for the Spartans marks yet another milestone in the first-year program's record books, with the maroon and gold earning its inaugural East Coast Conference win.
STAC moves to 3-9 overall and 1-0 in the ECC, while Roberts Wesleyan slides to 4-9 and 0-1.

How it Happened
- As a team, STAC recorded 51 kills compared to Roberts Wesleyan's 45. The Spartans also had a seven blocks and 49 assists, while the Redhawks tallied three blocks and 41 assists.
- St. Thomas Aquinas outhit Roberts Wesleyan by a .384 to .207 margin for the match.
- Kyran Versteegen (Sittard, Netherlands) paced the Spartans offense with a match-high 18 kills on Saturday. He also registered three service aces, two digs and two block assists.
- Joaquin La Jara (Lima, Peru) tallied 39 serve assists (9.75 assists/set). La Jara also accumulated a service ace, a match-high 11 digs and a solo block for the maroon and gold.
- Gabriel Vieira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) recorded 17 kills, along with four digs, a solo block and a block assist.
- Thomas Santos (Miami, Fla.) racked up five serve assists and 10 digs for the Spartans.
- Andre Cippiciani (Sao Paulo, Brazil) picked up eight kills and seven digs.
- David Weiss (Oyten, Germany) accumulated four kills, a dig, two solo blocks and two block assists.
- Nicholas Santos (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) tallied two kills and three digs for the Spartans.
