St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball players Gabriel Vieira, Ivaylo Todorov and Marcus Franck were each selected for the East Coast Conference's weekly awards on Monday, following the Spartans matches against NJIT (W, 3-2), Merrimack College (L, 3-0) and Dominican University (3-0) this past week.
Viera was tabbed as the ECC Player of the Week, while Todorov took home Defensive Player of the Week and Franck Setter of the Week.
Vieira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) recorded 57 kills (.314 hitting percentage), 16 digs, 14 blocks (3 solo, 11 assisted), one assist, and two service aces across three matches in 11 total sets against the Highlanders, Warriors and Chargers. In the conference match-up against Dominican, the STAC sophomore hit .333 with 21 kills.
Todorov (Aktau, Kazakhstan) tallied 24 digs and five assists over 11 total sets against NJIT, Merrimack and Dominican.
Franck (Congonhas, Brazil) totaled 109 assists for an average of 9.9 assists per set, 10 kills, 18 digs, a service ace, and three assisted blocks over three matches versus the Highlanders, Warriors and Chargers.
STAC (11-7, 3-0 ECC) heads to Connecticut to face Sacred Heart University on Saturday, March 22 at 7:00 p.m.
