St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball players Gabriel Vieira and Ivaylo Todorov were each selected for the East Coast Conference's weekly awards on Monday, following the Spartans sweep of back-to-back weekend home matches against Fairleigh Dickinson University (3-0) and American International College (3-0).
Vieira was tabbed as the ECC Player of the Week, while Todorov scored ECC Defensive Player of the Week kudos.
Vieira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) recorded 31 kills, an assist, a service ace, seven digs, and eight blocks (3 solo, 5 assisted) over two match victories in six total sets against Division I Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-0, and ECC foe American International, 3-0, last week. The STAC sophomore outside hitter/opposite hitter also held a .417 hitting percentage in that span.
Todorov (Aktau, Kazakhstan) recorded a kill and 16 digs over six total sets in wins over Fairleigh Dickinson and American International last week.
STAC (9-6, 2-0 ECC) returns to friendly confines of the Spartan Athletic Complex to face NJIT on Tuesday, March 11 at 5:00 p.m.
