Springfield, Mass. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball team set yet another program record on Saturday, surpassing their win total from a season ago, with a 3-0 sweep of American International College at Henry A. Butova Gymnasium.

STAC improves to 12-9 overall and remains perfect in ECC action at 4-0, while AIC slips to 4-16 and 0-4.

How it Happened

  • As a team, STAC recorded 36 kills compared to American International's 29. The Spartans also had 8 blocks and 31 assists, while the Yellow Jackets tallied 4 blocks and 25 assists.
  • St. Thomas Aquinas College outhit American International College by a .247 to .040 margin for the match.
  • Gabriel Vieira led the Spartans offense with a team-high 10 kills. He also had an assist, four digs and two block assists.
  • Marcus Franck tallied 23 set assists (7.7 assists/set). Franck also accumulated three kills, a service ace, six digs and three block assists for the maroon and gold.
  • Jannis Freude registered seven kills, an assist, four digs and a solo block for the Spartans.
