
Orangeburg, N.Y. - Playing their next five matches on the road, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball team earned a 3-0 East Coast Conference victory over crosstown rivals Dominican University on Sunday at the Hennessy Center in Rockland County.
The Spartans breezed past the Chargers in the first two sets, but the sides played a helter skelter third stanza with the visitors from Sparkill battling to come out on top for the overall win.
STAC improves 11-7 overall and 3-0 in ECC play, while Dominican falls to 5-15 and 2-1.

How it Happened
- As a team, STAC recorded 42 kills compared to Dominican's 28. The Spartans also had 8 blocks and 40 assists, while the Chargers tallied 7 blocks and 28 assists.
- St. Thomas Aquinas College outhit Dominican University by a .330 to .143 margin for the match.
- Gabriel Vieira led the Spartans offense with a match-high 21 kills. He also had an assist, a service ace, three digs, two solo blocks and two block assists.
- Marcus Franck tallied 30 set assists (10.0 assists/set). Franck also accumulated four kills, a service ace and six digs for the maroon and gold.
- Kyran Versteegen registered 12 kills, three assists, six digs and two block assists for the Spartans.
- Sietse Pol recorded two kills, three assists, six digs and a block assist on the afternoon.
- David Weiss picked up two kills, a service ace, two digs, a solo block and two block assists for STAC on Sunday.
- Ivaylo Todorov accumulated three assists and 11 digs over three sets.
- STAC has now recorded seven sweeps in 18 total matches this season.
- With Sunday's victory, the Spartans have matched their win total (11) from their inaugural season in 2023-24.
