STAC Men's Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision At Harvard

Cambridge, Mass. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball team capped off a busy two days of competition, hitting the road on Saturday to take on Harvard University at the Malkin Athletic Center in New England. Despite a valiant effort from the maroon and gold in a battle between EIVA and ECC squads, the host Crimson took a 3-0 straight sets sweep over the Spartans.

STAC slips to 1-3 on the year, while Harvard improves to 1-2.

How it Happened

  • As a team, Harvard recorded 38 kills compared to STAC's 27. The Crimson also had 11 blocks and 37 assists, while the Spartans tallied 6.5 blocks and 25 assists.
  • Harvard University outhit St. Thomas Aquinas College by a .338 to .131 margin for the match.
  • Gabriel Vieira led the Spartans offense with eight kills. He also had three digs and a block assist.
  • Marcus Franck tallied 16 serve assists (5.33 assists/set). Franck also accumulated three kills, eight digs and a block assist for the maroon and gold.
  • Kyran Versteegen recorded five kills, a service ace, four digs and three block assists on the evening.
  • David Weiss put together a five kill, one service ace, one dig and two block assist effort against the Crimson.
  • Jannis Freude registered three kills, an assist, a service ace and a block assist for the Spartans.
  • Raoul Kerkdijk picked up two kills and three block assists for STAC on Saturday.
  • Ivaylo Todorov accumulated three assists and four digs over three sets.
