STAC Men's Volleyball Stuns Daemen University In 3-0 Sweep

Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball team recorded back-to-back weekend sweeps of Western New York squads on Saturday morning by stunning Daemen University, 3-0 at the Spartan Athletic Complex.

STAC improves to 5-6 on the season, while Daemen slips to 4-3.

How it Happened

  • As a team, STAC recorded 36 kills compared to Daemen's 34. The Spartans also had 4 blocks and 33 assists, while the Wildcats tallied 2 blocks and 34 assists.
  • St. Thomas Aquinas College outhit Daemen University by a .536 to .250 margin for the match.
  • Gabriel Vieira led the Spartans offense with 12 kills. He also had a service ace, two digs and two block assists.
  • Marcus Franck tallied 21 serve assists (7.0 assists/set). Franck also accumulated a kill, two digs and a solo block for the maroon and gold.
  • Jannis Freude recorded 12 kills, an assist, four service aces, three digs and a block assist on the day.
  • Kyran Versteegen registered seven kills, two assists and five digs for the Spartans.
