
Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball team opened East Coast Conference play on Saturday afternoon by winning their fourth straight match, a 3-0 sweep of Roberts Wesleyan University at the Spartan Athletic Complex.
STAC improves to 7-6 overall and 1-0 in ECC action, while Roberts Wesleyan slips to 6-8 and 0-1. The victory for the maroon and gold sets yet another mark in the program's record books, as the Spartans currently hold their first winning record in the team's short history.

How it Happened
- As a team, STAC recorded 36 kills compared to Roberts Wesleyan's 29. The Spartans also had 9 blocks and 34 assists, while the Redhawks tallied 7 blocks and 27 assists.
- St. Thomas Aquinas College outhit Roberts Wesleyan University by a .299 to .100 margin for the match.
- Gabriel Vieira led the Spartans offense with a match-high 15 kills. He also had an assist, a service ace, six digs and two block assists.
- Marcus Franck tallied 28 serve assists (9.3 assists/set). Franck also accumulated four kills and five digs for the maroon and gold.
- Kyran Versteegen registered seven kills, two assists, two service aces, eight digs, a solo block and two block assists for the Spartans.
- Jannis Freude recorded seven kills, two assists, two digs, two solo blocks and two block assists on the afternoon.
- David Weiss picked up three kills, an assist, a dig and three block assists for STAC on Saturday.
- Ivaylo Todorov accumulated four digs over three sets.
