The St. Thomas Aquinas women's softball team lost at Mercy, 4-1 and 9-0.  In game one, Samantha McDonald went 2-for-3 with a run.  Kim Nowak went 1-for--3 with an RBI.  The Lady Spartans had 7 hits and left 6 stranded.  In game two, STAC stranded 8 as the Maverick's defense shut them out.  McDonald, Nowak and Lauren Navarro went 2-for-3.

McDonald led off the 4th inning with a single and advanced to second on a sac fly from Brittany Mangan.  Shelby Coyle singled up the middle and McDonald advanced to third.  Nowak's hit to third was enought to score McDonald and put the Lady Spartans on the board.

STAC will return to action on Sunday as they host Molloy College for their final game of the season.
