The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team dropped to LIU Post, 5-1 and 8-3 on Saturday afternoon. In game one, Samantha McDonald went 1-for-4 and scored the Spartans lone run.  Brittany Malloy went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI in the second game of the day.  Kim Nowak and Nicolette Nevola each had two hits for the game. 

In game one, the Spartans got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the 6th inning as Samantha McDonald hit a single.  Danielle DiModugno followed with a single advancing McDonald to second.  Malloy's single loaded the bases and Erin McCarthy's at bat scored McDonald.  

In game two, Brittany Mangan hit an RBI single to drive in the Spartans first run of the game.  Malloy's single in the bottom of the 6th drove in two runs for STAC to tie the game at 3-3.  The Pioneers fought back in the top of the 7th inning adding five runs to secure the win.  

The Spartans will travel to NYIT on Sunday.
