The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost at NYIT on Sunday afternoon, 5-3 and 4-1.  The Spartans had 11 hits in game one and left 7 runners stranded.  Colleen Pagnani and Nikolette Nevola each had RBI singles in game one. Samantha McDonald, Kim Nowak and Julie Sosnicki each scored runs for STAC. 

Pagnani's RBI bunt single in the 2nd inning scored Kim Nowak who also singled.  McDonald led off the top of 3rd with a single and later scored on a wild pitch.  Nevola's RBI single tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the 4th.  The Bears added two runs in the bottom of the 5th to edge the Spartans.

In the second game, McDonald's RBI sac fly to score Nevola gave the Spartans a 1-0 lead in the 3rd.  The Spartans stayed on top until the bottom of the 5th when the Bears added 4 runs highlighted by a 2 RBI double by Moreno.  

The Spartans will host Mercy on Wednesday afternoon.  Wednesday's game will be the senior day game for the Spartans only senior, Colleen Pagnani.
