The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team dropped both end of a doubleheader to the Purple Knights, 6-2 and 5-3.  Alyssa Chelak and Colleen Borum lead the way for the Spartans notching 2 RBIs each.

In game 1, STAC got on the board first in the top of the 2nd with Chelak's double scoring Nikolette Nevola and Briana Emanuele.  Bridgeport answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the second.  Despite Kelcy McGeehan's 3 hits, the Spartans were unable to regain the lead.  Julie Sosnicki took the loss on the mound for the Spartans.

Bridgeport took an early lead in Game 2 scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd and adding one more in the bottom of the 3rd.  A Borum 2 run homer in the top of the 4th, followed by another homerun by Kelcy McGeehan brought the Spartans to within one run.  Bridgeport added one in the bottom of the 5th and were able to hold on for the win.  Briana Keaveny took the STAC loss on the mound.

The team will return to action on Sunday at Spartan Field as they take on the Golden Lions of Dowling College.
