The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost to LIU Post, 5-1 & 5-2 this afternoon.  Samantha McDonald connected for two of the Spartans runs hitting a solo home run in each game. 

McDonald hit a solo home run in the 6th inning of game one to score the Spartans only run.  The Spartans had three hits for the game with Kelcy McGeehan and Kim Nowak each adding a hit. STAC left five on base in the loss.  Julie Sosnicki had the loss on the mound giving up three hits in two innings.  

In the second game of the day, Amanda Leone had an RBI single to score Cyan Scarduzio to bring STAC within one, 2-1 in the second inning.  The Pioneers added a run in both the 5th and the 6th to take a 4-2 lead.  McDonald hit her second home run for the day in the 6th inning to bring STAC within two.  LIU Post scored their final run in the 7th and held on for a 5-2 win.  

The Spartans had five hits to LIU Post's twelve.  Briana Keaveney had the loss on the mound giving up ten hits and had three strike outs in six innings.  

STAC will return to action on Wednesday when they host NYIT for a double header starting at 2:30.
