Knights Shutout Spartans, 4-0 in Two

The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost to Queens College, 4-0 in both games on Saturday afternoon.  

In game one, the Spartans had five hits and left three stranded through seven innings.  Stevianne Ognibene's home run in the bottom of the 2nd inning put the Knights on the scoreboard, with a 1-0 lead.  Kylie Spillet added a 3-run home run in the 4th to give Queens a 4-0 lead and conclude the scoring for the game.  Briana Keaveney picked up the loss on the mound giving up five hits through five innings.  

In the second game of the day, Ognibene tripled in the bottom of the second inning and was brought home by a sac fly from Victoria Carlo.  The Knights added three more runs in the bottom of the 4th inning highlighted by a 2-RBI double from Carlo.  The Spartans had three hits and left four stranded in the loss.  Julie Sosnicki recorded three strike outs on the mound for the Spartans. 

STAC will play their final regular season game on Sunday when they travel to Molloy College for a noon double header.
