Landolina, McGeehan and Dilal Earn 2019 ECC Softball All-Conference Second Team Honors

St. Thomas Aquinas College's Ashley Landolina (shortstop), Kelcy McGeehan (third base) and Adrianna Dilal (pitcher) were named to the second team of the All-East Coast Conference softball team selected by the conference coaches. The team was announced Friday at the conference playoffs.

Landolina (Tolland, Ct.), McGeehan (Bayville, N.J.) and Dilal (Rochester, N.Y.) have all played key roles in one of STAC's most successful seasons in the program's 35-year history. The Spartans earned their first NCAA playoff bid since 2006 and posted the program's first winning record since 1997. STAC currently holds a record of 24-20 and is ranked ninth in the NCAA Div. II East poll for three straight weeks.

Landolina, a junior, earned her second straight second-team All-ECC distinction. She is the team's leading offensive player with team-leading totals in hits (50), homers (seven), runs batted in (33), steals (16) and batting average (.370). Only seven players in STAC history have recorded 50 hits or more in a season. She also is one of the team's top defensive players at shortstop.

"I consider Ashley to be one of the best all-around players in the ECC," said Sullivan. "She has played at a very high level offensively and defensively for us all season."

McGeehan closes her collegiate career with her best season. After beginning the season as the starting first baseman, she moved to third base and is one of the team's defensive anchors. At the plate, she leads the Spartans in doubles and is second in runs batted in. She joined the prestigious 100-hit club early in her senior season.

"Kelcy is one of the most important players this year," said Sullivan. "She is one of our team leaders and has played well in all facets of the game. She is one of the league's best defensive players and is a consistent hitter."

Dilal, a transfer from Kutztown University, logged a 10-7 record that included a no-hitter against Molloy College. She holds an impressive 2.03 earned run average with 98 strikeouts and only 16 walks in 107 innings of work. Her performance in conference play was exceptional exhibited by her 7-2 record and 1.32 earned run average.

"Adrianna is a major contributor to our success this season," said STAC Head Coach Kristen Sullivan. "Her work against conference opponents was especially impressive. We will build our pitching staff around her next season."
