St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball player Sarah Clancy was named the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans 3-3 week on the diamond, with wins over conference opponents Mercy and D'Youville last week.
Two-time defending ECC champion St. Thomas Aquinas won its season opening conference game 8-0 over Mercy behind Clancy's three-hit shutout pitching. The lefthander from Chino Hills, California earned a pair of conference wins on the week, posting a 2.74 ERA and nine strikeouts.
STAC (14-14, 3-1 ECC) next hosts Dominican University on Tuesday, April 1 in a non-conference matchup scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m at Spartan Field.
