Sprint Football Hits The Gridiron, Official Practices Begin Monday

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Sprint Football team takes the field beginning Monday for their first official practice, as they countdown the days until kickoff of their Inaugural 2018 Season. With just 20 days remaining until the Spartans play their first-ever CSFL contest against Post University, Head Coach Matt Barry and his staff are eager and excited to begin preparations for their September 15th Season/Home opener.

Coach Barry's first recruiting class of seventy plus athletes has been on campus for the last week, meeting with the coaching staff, taking part in team bonding and orientation activities and assisting in setting up locker room and practice facilities. The Spartans are ready to finally put on their helmets and pads, and take to the gridiron to get ready for the upcoming season.

Training camp practices for the Spartan Sprint Football squad will take place at both Spartan Field and the Torne Valley Sports Complex, with the team's first intrasquad scrimmage taking place on Thursday, August 30th. St. Thomas Aquinas College opens their Inaugural 2018 CSFL Season on Saturday, September 15th against Post University at the Torne Valley Sports Complex. Kick-off is scheduled for 6pm, with pregame festivities to precede the contest.
