St. Thomas Aquinas College Sprint Football Cornerback Shawn Benard has been named the Collegiate Sprint Football League's Defensive Player of the Week, following the Spartans 28-0 triumph over Cornell University on Friday evening at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

Benard (Jr./Rochester, N.Y.) led the Spartan defense with two interceptions, picking off one Xavier Martinez pass in the endzone and running another back 24 yards from the STAC's own six yard line. He also had 4.5 tackles against the Big Red. 

St. Thomas Aquinas College wrapped up its 2022 season, going 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the CSFL North Division.
