St. Thomas Aquinas College Sprint Football Outside Linebacker Sheriffh Bittaye has been named the Collegiate Sprint Football League's Defensive Player of the Week, following the Spartans 21-17 victory over the University of Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

Bittaye (Sr./Bronx, N.Y.) led the Spartan defense with 9 tackles (7 solo, 2 assisted), three of which were for a loss totaling 21 yards. He also recorded two sacks on Penn QB Andrew Paolini, as STAC picked up their first win of the 2022 campaign.

STAC (1-0, 0-0 CSFL North) looks to make it back-to-back wins on a short week, as the Spartans visit Alderson Broaddus University on Friday, September 30. Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm at the Multi-Sport Performance Stadium in Philippi, West Virginia.
