Multiple Top-10 Spartan Finishes Highlight Ramapo College Season Opener

New York, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Track and Field team returned to action Friday, competing in the Ramapo College Season Opener at the 168th Street Armory in New York City.

Headlining the men's performances were first place finishes in field events, as DeAndre Smith took the High Jump event, leaping 2.00m/6'6.75", Dante Brown earned victory in the Long Jump, with a jump of 7.10m/23'3.5" and Emmanuel Mena Jimenez took the win in the Weight Throw with a hurl of 15.93m/52'3.25". On the track, Elizah Gordon was victorious in the 60 Meter Dash, crossing the timeline in 6.98 seconds.
 
On the women's side of the ledger, Skylar Moreno earned a third place finish in the 3000 Meter run, crossing the finish line with a time of 10:38.05 and Ariana Russell placed fourth in the 60 Meter Hurdles, finishing in 10.23 seconds.
 
St. Thomas Aquinas returns to action next Friday, January 28, as the Spartans travel to Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island for the SUNY Albany Great Dane Classic.
