Staten Island, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Track and Field team closed out its Fall 2021 Semester schedule at the Wagner College Seahawk Shootout within the friendly confines of the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday afternoon.
The Spartans faced off against athletes from several institutions such as Hofstra University, Monmouth University, Long Island University, Wagner College, NJIT, Penn, College of Staten Island, Molloy College, District of Columbia and Holy Family University, among other Division I, II and III competitors.
Headlining the outstanding performances for the Spartans were Dante Brown's first place finish in the Long Jump with a leap of 6.94m/22'9.25", DeAndre Smith's third place finish in the High Jump with a jump of 1.95m/6'4.75", Abagaile Kimbrell's fifth place finish in the 3000 Meter Run with a time of 10:31.39 and the Women's Sprint Medley Relay team's (Christina Maretzo, Skylar Moreno, Emma Neil and Linise Greene) sixth place finish in a time 4:30.03.
STAC returns to action after the holidays and mandatory NCAA Division II break, as the Spartans will open 2022 at the Wagner College Invitational on Friday, January 7. The day's events begin at 1pm at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY.
