STAC Track & Field Athletes Compete in Army West Point Twilight with NCAA Bids in Their Sights

West Point, N.Y. - St. Thomas Aquinas College Track & Field athletes competed in the Army West Point Twilight meet on Thursday, as the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field committee begins to review and make decisions on teams and athletes that will represent Division II at its upcoming national championships in Emporia, Kansas at the end of May.

Emmanuel Mena Jimenez has already set several NCAA Division II provisional measurements in the Discus event, but now it's time to sharpen skills, increase distances and hopefully secure a spot at the national championships by moving up the rankings.

On the day, Manny placed third in the Discus, setting yet another provisional mark with a throw of 54.92 meters (180'2"). Jayden Bennermon was another top-three finisher, taking runner-up status in the Triple Jump, with a leap of 14.24 meters (46"8.75").

Kristen Kennedy represented the STAC women's squad and placed tenth in the Javelin with a throw of 30.97 meters (101'7").

Now, all athletes wait for official word from Indianapolis and NCAA headquarters, as the Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field field of competitors will be released on Tuesday, May 14.
