St. Thomas Aquinas College's Nicholas Seitz and Emmanuel Mena Jimenez were named the East Coast Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week respectively on Monday, following the Spartans season opening meet, the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Seitz (Huntington, N.Y.) competed in two events at the Shamrock Invitational. The freshman middle distance runner placed third out of 34 in the mile with a time of 4:46.15, which is also an NCAA Division II provisional mark. He also finished fifth out of 28 in the in the 800m with a time of 2:07.85.

Mena Jimenez (West Haverstraw, N.Y.) participated in three events while at the Myrtle Beach event. The senior thrower placed first out of 52 in the discus (48.65m/159' 7") and first out of 51 in the hammer throw (56.64m/185' 10") events and second out of 56 in the shot put (15.24m/50' 0").

STAC returns to action on Friday and Saturday, March 29 & 30 at the Ramapo College Track & Field Invitational in Mahwah, New Jersey.
