St. Thomas Aquinas College's Emmanuel Mena Jimenez was named the East Coast Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on Monday, after the Spartans participated in the Army West Point Open last weekend in West Point, N.Y.

Mena Jimenez (West Haverstraw, N.Y.) once again put together another outstanding day in the cage at the Army West Point Open. The senior thrower maintained his NCAA Division II provisional mark in the weight throw with a toss of 18.84m (61' 9.75"), which was good for a first-place finish in a field of nine. Additionally, Mena-Jimenez placed fourth in a field of nine in the shot put with a throw of 14.66m (48' 1.25”). Manny now owns the top-three weight throw marks in the ECC this season, meeting the NCAA Division II provisional mark all three times, and owns three of the top-six ECC marks in the shot put this year.

STAC will next host its annual Spartan Invitational, which takes place on Friday, January 12 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island. Events are scheduled to get underway beginning at 12:00 p.m.
