Emmanuel Mena Jimenez Earns ECC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week Accolades

St. Thomas Aquinas College's Emmanuel Mena Jimenez was named the East Coast Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, for a fourth time this season, on Monday after the Spartans took part in the Penn Relays at historic Franklin Field in Philadelphia last weekend.

Mena Jimenez (West Haverstraw, N.Y.) placed third in the hammer throw with a mark of 59.18m (194’ 2”) at the prestigious Penn Relays. The performance hit the NCAA Division II provisional mark and set a new St. Thomas Aquinas school record in the event. It also leads both the ECC and NCAA East Region and ranks 25th across all of NCAA DII this spring. The STAC senior also finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 52.11m (170' 11”), which also leads both the ECC and NCAA East Region.

STAC returns to action on Thursday, May 2 (9:00 a.m.) at the East Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The postseason meet is hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University on the Redhawks campus in Rochester, N.Y.
