Track & Field Shines At Ramapo Invitational, As Men's and Women's Teams Each Finish Seventh

Mahwah, N.J. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's and Women's Track & Field program continued to shine bright both on the track and in field events on Friday and Saturday at the Ramapo College Invitational in New Jersey.

On the weekend, the STAC men's and women's teams both earned seventh place finishes.

Headlining the outstanding performances for the men's squad, Emmanuel Mena-Jimenez picked up a victory in the Hammer Throw (52.55m), while Adam Lenn won the Discus event with a toss of 47.59m. Jayden Bennermon scored a second place finish in the Triple Jump, with a leap 14.02m and the 4x100 Meter Relay team of Miles Fisher, Leelan Maxwell, Christan Watson and Jayden Bennermon took third with a time of 43.10.

On the women's side of the ledger, Emily Strunk earned a first place finish in the Shot Put with a toss of 12.82, which also sets a new school record. Nicole Gysin took third in the 100 Meter Hurdles, crossing the timeline at 16.78 and Kristen Kennedy placed third in the Javelin event with a throw of 31.21m. The 4x100 Meter Relay team of Ciara Doyle, Jazmin Rogers, Isabella Farino-Esposito and Aalianne Gilbert picked up a third place finish with a time of 52.41.

The Spartans next compete at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Coach Omeltchenko Invitational on Saturday, April 7 at USMMA in Kings Point, N.Y.
