West Point, N.Y. - St. Thomas Aquinas College Track & Field athletes competed in the Army West Point Twilight meet on Thursday, as the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field committee begins to review and make decisions on teams and athletes that will represent Division II at its upcoming national championships in Pueblo, Colorado at the end of May.
On the day, Adam Lenn finished fifth in the Discus with a throw of 47.38 meters (155'5"), while Jayden Bennermon placed sixth in the Triple Jump with a vault of 14.13 meters (46'4.25"), and Leelan Maxwell took sixth in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 11.24.
Among the representatives on STAC's women's squad, Nicole Gysin placed first in the Triple Jump with a vault of 10.15 meters (33'3.75") and fifth in the High Jump with a leap of 1.50 meters (4'11"), while Yulessa Johnson finished second in the 100 Meter Dash in a time of 12.84 and Samantha Frisbee took fourth in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase, clocking in at 13:01.09.
Now, all athletes wait for official word from Indianapolis and NCAA headquarters, as the Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field field of competitors will be released on Tuesday, May 13.
