St. Thomas Aquinas College's Emmanuel Mena Jimenez was named the East Coast Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday following the Spartans latest meet, the 2025 Big Apple Invitational.
Mena Jimenez (West Haverstraw, N.Y.) won two events over the weekend, placing first in both the weight throw (NCAA Division II provisional standard 19.64m, field of 25) and the shot put (15.47m, field of 35) at the Big Apple Invitational on Saturday. His career-best shot put performance now ranks second in both the ECC and NCAA East Region while he maintains the top ECC and NCAA mark in the weight throw (20.74m), which ranks third nationally.
STAC now prepares for the East Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday, February 16 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. Events are scheduled to get underway beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Staten Island.
