Mahwah, N.J. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's and Women's Track & Field program continued to shine bright both on the track and in field events on Friday and Saturday at the Ramapo College Invitational in New Jersey.
The men's squad featured first place finishes for Jayden Bennermon in the High Jump (1.94m/6'4.25"), Adam Lenn in the Shot Put (15.97m/52'4.75") and Emmanuel Mena Jimenez in the Discus (53.80m/176'6"). Second place finishes included Leelan Maxwell's 100 Meter Dash time of 10.68, Bennermon's Long Jump vault of 6.76m (22'2.25") and Triple Jump leap of 14.41m (47'3.5") and Mena Jimenez's Hammer Throw of 58.50m (191'11"). For Mena Jimenez, both of his tosses in the Discus and Hammer Throw Events are NCAA Division II Provisional marks.
On the women's side of the ledger, Samantha Frisbee earned a first place finish in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase with a time of 13:11.42. The 4x800 Meter Relay team of Ciara Durcan, Zoe Merryman, Sophonie Michel and Isabella Farino-Esposito picked up a second place finish at a time of 10:21.22, while Kristen Kennedy placed third in the Javelin with a throw of 29.84m (97'11") and Zoe Merryman finished fourth in the 1500 Meter Run in a time of 4:52.74.
The Spartans next compete at the Misericordia University Twilight Invitational on Friday, April 4 at the Anderson Athletic Complex in Dallas, Pennsylvania.
