
New York, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Track and Field team returned to action Friday, competing in the Ramapo College Season Opener at the 168th Street Armory in New York City.
Headlining the men's performances were Jayden Bennermon earning a first place finish in the Triple Jump, leaping to a new school record 14.45m (47'5") and Emmanuel Mena Jimenez placing second in the weight throw with a toss of 19.59m (64'3.25"). Mena Jimenez once again hit the NCAA Division II Provisional Mark for the Weight Throw event.
On the women's side of the ledger, Zoe Merryman placed tenth in the One Mile Run, clocking in with a time of 5:16.42, which now puts Merryman fourth in the ECC for the event.
St. Thomas Aquinas returns to action next Friday, January 24, as the Spartans head back to the 168th Street Armory for the Dr. Sander Scorcher.
