Six Spartans Earn USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field All-Region Honors

On Wednesday, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its 2024-25 Division II Indoor Track & Field All-Region awards. Jayden Bennermon, Emmanuel Mena Jimenez, Ciara Durcan, Isabella Farino-Esposito, Yulessa Johnson and Zoe Merryman of St. Thomas Aquinas College were selected for the prestigious honor in recognition of their outstanding individual winter seasons.

Bennermon (Sr.|Jumps|Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) placed First at the TCNJ Winter Open (13.67m), Second at the Wagner College Invitational (13.75m), First at the Ramapo College Season Opener (14.45m), Thirteenth at the Dr. Sander Scorcher (13.53m), Second at the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights Open (14.58m), First at the Big Apple Invitational (14.82m), Second at the East Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships (14.86m), and First at the FastTrack Last Chance Meet (14.50m) in the Triple Jump during eight meets this season. Jayden took home First Team All-Conference accolades from the ECC.

In addition, he also finished Fourth at the FastTrack Season Opener (1.94m), First at the TCNJ Winter Open (1.87m), Fifth at the Wagner College Seahawk Shootout (2.00m), First at the Wagner College Invitational (1.95m), Seventh at the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartan Invitational (1.93m), Fifth at the Ramapo College Season Opener (1.92m), Fourteenth at the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights Open (1.85m), First at the Big Apple Invitational (1.95m) and Fourth at the East Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships (1.93m) for the High Jump in nine meets. Bennermon also netted Second Team All-Conference honors from the ECC.

Mena Jimenez (Gr.|Throws|West Haverstraw, N.Y.) led the way for the Spartans in the Weight Throw Event, finishing First at the TCNJ Winter Open (18.97m), First at the Wagner College Invitational (20.74m), First at the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartan Invitational (20.43m), Second at the Ramapo College Season Opener (19.59m), First at the Big Apple Invitational (19.64m) and First at the East Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships (21.12m). Manny scored First Team All-Conference kudos from the ECC and has qualified for the upcoming NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships.

Durcan (Sr.|Distance|Orangeburg, N.Y.), Farino-Esposito (Gr.|Sprints/Hurdles|Pearl River, N.Y.), Johnson (Fr.|Sprints|Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Merryman (So.|Distance|Mahwah, N.Y.) comprised the Spartans Distance Medley Relay who placed Fifth at the FastTrack National Invitational (12:47.53) and then Second at the East Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. The quartet also earned Second Team All-Conference honors from the ECC.

2025 USTFCCCA Division II Indoor Track & Field All-Region Athletes
