The St. Thomas Athletic Department presented Dr. Margaret Fitzpatrick with a check to be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation during Wednesday's basketball doubleheader.  The Spartans raised $825 which will be added to donations from each member institution in the East Coast Conference. 

Donating to the Make-A-Wish Foundation has been the main focus of the East Coast Conference.  Last year the ECC had a record-setting year, raising $27,875 for the Foundation to rank second among all DII conferences.

Continuing its longstanding commitment to philanthropy, The NCAA Division II established a partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation in January 2003.  The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee driven national fundraiser continues to flourish with each year reaching record-breaking totals.  Last year Division II SAAC’s around the nation raised a total of $359,187.73 for the cause.  To date the NCAA has donated more than $1 million to the foundation.
